The 2007 film City of Men also known as Cidade dos Homens was released August 31. The story focuses on best friends Acerola and Laranjinha who are both about to turn 18 years old. The story is set in the slum of Rio de Janeiro. These friends are trying to live their lives and fulfill their dreams but are living in a not so promising area occupied by drug dealers and crime.
Sequel?
City of Men is the second film following City of God. It is not technically a sequel but both films share many similar elements. There is also a Brazilian mini-series, City of Men. It was been released on DVD internationally.
