Philadelphia hard rockers Cinderella got a career kick-start when Jon Bon Jovi saw them perform and recommended them to Bon Jovi's label Mercury Records. Soon they'd released their debut Night Songs and were opening tours for David Lee Roth as well as for Bon Jovi during their mega-hit Slippery When Wet tour.
