  Cillian Murphy has established himself as a versatile young actor whose considerable range has caught the attention of audiences and critics alike. Born and raised in Ireland, Murphy primarily performed in Irish and British theater and independent film during his early career, and he had originally intended to be a rock musician.

  Hollywood took notice of him when he appeared as the lead in the film 28 Days Later and soon after that he made a name for himself as a good villain in the films Red Eye opposite Rachel McAdams and Batman Begins, in which he played the character of Scarecrow.

  In addition to a brief appearance in The Dark Knight, he is set to appear alongside Sienna Miller in Hippie Hippie Shake Shake.
