Chuck Palahniuk is a novelist and journalist from Washington State who has written nine novels and received numerous awards for his fiction. Palahniuk's rapid-paced novels aim to satirize societies consumerism, self-absorption, and artificial environments. Best known for his novel Fight Club (which was adapted into a movie in 1999), the author consistently pushes the limits of good taste in an effort to make the reader examine their place in a larger cultural narrative. The latest movie to be adapted from a Palahniuk novel is the 2008 movie Choke.
