Chrysler announced on July 22, 2009, that it would match the U.S. Government's Cash for Clunkers incentive program for purchases of most 2009 vehicles. The program provides up to $4,500 in cash, the same rebate offered by the government plan, or 0% financing for most models purchased through August 31, 2009, through GMAC Financial Services.
The government rebate can be issued to people who trade in a car with lower fuel economy for one more efficient. The Chrysler rebate will be issued for any trade-in, regardless of fuel economy.
