Chromatics is a band currently based in Portland, Oregon whose music was originally part of the No Wave movement, characterized by abrasive, noisy rock. But after a significant changes to their line-up, the band now produces electronic music. Characterized by synth-oriented, bass-heavy music and reserved female vocals, their music is similar to the italo disco genre of house music which grew popular in the 1990s. Chromatics' electronic sound is closely related to that of Glass Candy, an electronic music group that shares a member with them.
