Christy Layne is reportedly in critical condition after being shot, and perhaps stabbed, by her husband Michael Layne, on February 7, 2008. The shooting occurred at an elementary school in Portsmouth, Ohio, where Christy is a teacher. Her students hid in the coat room during the assault.
