Christopher Nolan is a British film director, writer and producer. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his work on the screenplay of the film Memento. He is also the director of the box office hit Batman Begins and its 2008 sequel, The Dark Knight.
Early Life
Christopher Nolan was born in London, England on July 30, 1970. He attended Haileybury College in England and then the University College London. In 1997, Nolan married Emma Thomas.Film Career
Nolan's directing career began with the critically acclaimed film 1998 Following. He followed that up with the Academy Award nominated film Memento, starring Guy Pearce. In 2002, Nolan directed his first big budget Hollywood film Insomnia. The film was a remake of a popular Norwegian film of the same name. Nolan's version starred Academy Award winning actors Robin Williams, Al Pacino and Hilary Swank. In 2005, Nolan directed his first blockbuster film with the immensely popular Batman Begins, starring Christian Bale. Nolan teamed with Bale again, this time with Hugh Jackman in the critically acclaimed movie The Prestige. In 2008, Nolan returned to the screen with his sequel to his Batman saga, The Dark Knight.-
