Christopher Atkins is an American actor whose first attempt at acting became his original claim to fame. He starred opposite Brooke Shields in the 1980 romance and adventure film The Blue Lagoon when he was 19 years old. After starring in various roles afterwards, Atkins will appear on VH1's Confessions of a Teen Idol which is geared towards reviving the careers of former teen idols.
Film Career
His role in The Blue Lagoon earned Atkins a Golden Globe nomination and became a box office smash. Soon he was propelled to fame, leading to roles in The Pirate Movie, A Night in Heaven, Payback, the television show Dallas, and numerous made-for-TV movies. In an attempt to breathe new life into his career, Atkins joined the cast of Confessions of a Teen Idol in 2008. The show, hosted by Scott Baio, attempts to bring former stars back into the Hollywood circuit.
