  • Butter
  • Baking soda
  • Flour
  • Brown sugar
  • Eggs
  • Alcohol, which could include bourbon, brandy, whiskey or rum
  • Fruits, which could include raisins, candied cherries, candied pineapple or any other type of candied fruit
  • Pecans

• How to Make Christmas Lizzies Cookies

  1. Soak the fruits in alcohol until they plump, which normally takes approximately one hour.
  2. Create cookie batter by mixing flour, butter, baking soda and other recipe-specific ingredients. Add the fruits and nuts last.
  3. Drop in spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees.
  5. Remove from pan and allow to cool.
  6. Store in an air-tight container.
