Homemade Gifts
To really save money on gifts consider making some at home. Gift baskets can be very meaningful especially when made by hand. For less expensive gift containers, use small decorative boxes or jars. Fill the decorated containers with items that are loved by the recipient. These can also be done in a rush for last minute gifts.Knitting and crocheting are a traditional favorite. Crochet hooks, knitting needles and yarn are relatively inexpensive, but it can be time consuming to make larger items so start at least a few months in advance.
Baking is also an inexpensive alternative. Package the cookies or other treats in decorative boxes.
Framed pictures or scrapbooks can be very meaningful and don't have to cost a lot.
