On December 4, 2009 a 'news story' emerged about a man setting up a surprising Christmas Decoration. According to the report, he had to take it down again, because the decorations resulted in scaring people who were passing by, repeated attempts to rescue the 'man in distress' and risking car accidents.
The decorations consist of a man and a string of lights hanging from the gutter of a house, and a ladder which appears to have fallen away. According to the owner of the house, he had people driving up to the house, pulling up the ladder, and climbing up, only to realize the man was not real after all. Finally police advised him to take the decorations down, in order to avoid traffic accidents.
The origin of the 'news story' is uncertain, but it has emerged on many blogs and site, including Buzzfeed and Shorter And Sweeter. The story has not been confirmed to be a real news item, and might have been fabricated as a 'viral picture'. http://shorterandsweeter.blogspot.com/2009/12/greatest-christmas-decoration-ever.htmlhttp://www.buzzfeed.com/awesomer/christmas-decorations-gone-awry
