Christmas Breakfast

  • If entertaining guests or a large family, Christmas may necessitate an elaborate preparation of breakfast foods. A good Christmas breakfast can fuel everyone up for opening all those presents! Rich, savory dishes and sweet dishes are usually made for Christmas morning. Christmas breakfast preparation can be faster and easier if some dishes are made ahead of time. Foods that can be made in advance are breakfast casseroles, doughnuts, pastries and bagels.
  • How to Make Eggnog Pancakes

    1. Mix together one tablespoon of sugar, 1 1/2 cups of flour, one tablespoon of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg in a large bowl.
    2. Make a well and pour in two tablespoons of melted butter, 1 cup of eggnog, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and one egg, slightly beaten. Mix until the batter is uniform.
    3. Pour the batter on to a hot nonstick pan, over medium heat. Pour the batter in about 1/4 of a cup at a time for best results. Cook each pancake until it is golden brown and then flip it over. Let the pancake cook for about 30 more seconds or as needed until it is spotted brown. Serve eggnog pancakes warm.
