During the holiday season, recreation-seekers may play Christmas-themed versions of bingo, the classic game of chance.
Pre-made Christmas bingo sets may be purchased over the Internet from retailers such as Amazon, or from toy and hobby suppliers.http://www.amazon.com/Merry-Christmas-Bingo-Hammett-Games/dp/B003E1A1WY http://www.perpetualkid.com/christmas-bingo.aspx?utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=cse&utm_content=BING-1174&utm_campaign=googlebasecse Some players opt to create their own game sets rather than purchasing them, either by designing bingo cards at home or printing them from various sources on the Web.
Rather than using numbers, as typical bingo cards do, Christmas bingo cards may contain holiday words and phrases, or images of common holiday objects such as Christmas trees, ornaments and hanging lights. Some websites allow users to customize their own cards. Cards may be laminated in order to make them reusable.http://www.mes-english.com/flashcards.php Players may use Christmas candies or other holiday-themed markers in place of traditional bingo daubers.

Bingo, a History
Bingo finds its early roots in sixteenth-century Italy, where a lottery game called Lo Giuoco del Lotto d'Italia originated. By the time the French caught onto the game, the lotto was played on cards containing three rows of five numbers. Ninety-one numbered chips were placed inside a cloth bag. A caller would reach into the bag, pull out a number and call it to out the players.http://www.strangelife.com/bingodoc/bingohist.html
In the late 1920s, the game made its way to North America. Called "beano" at the time, it became a common carnival and fair game. Upon winning a game, players would call out "Beano!"
The game was eventually marketed by New York toy-seller Edwin S. Lowe, who according to legend decided to change the name after hearing a player mistakenly call out "Bingo!" instead of "Beano!"http://www.royalworldcasino.com/how_did_bingo.html
