  • Film director Christine Jeffs rose to international prominence with her Sylvia Plath biopic Sylvia starring Gwyneth Paltrow.

    Her follow-up effort Sunshine Cleaning, was selected to compete in the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. It is film staring Amy Adams and Emily Blunt as sisers who go into business as bio hazard and crime scene cleaners in order to pay for their son/nephew's private school tuition.

    Before she was a director Jeffs she spent the early 1990s working as an assistant editor on the Australian films Ruby and Rata, the war time drama Absent Without Leave, and drama Crush. Jeffs then went on to write, direct, and edit her first short film Stroke. Stroke was a film about an anti-social swimmer gives her rivals their well deserved comeuppance.
