Christine A. McCallum, 29, is a married South Shore teacher. She is currently on leave from her job at Abington Elementary School because she was charge on January 11, 2009 with seven counts of statutory rape of a 13-year-old boy. McCallum is accused of plying the boy with alcohol and having sex with him on more than 300 occasions in her home, often while her unwitting husband was in the house. The secret liaisons took place over a period of two years, during which time, the teenager told police they had sex "almost every other day."
McCallum first came into the boy's life in 2005 when she began to tutor the victim's younger brother. She then began allowing the boys to stay at her house, cooked them meals and gave them rides to school. Only a few months later McCallum was plying the teen with alcohol and sleeping with him in her house and his.
It is said that McCallum ended the relationship in 2007 after becoming jealous when the victim used the cell phone she bought him to text girls his own age. According to police, the boy's father contacted them after the victim told his mother about the affair.
