Career
Despite a career that lasted thirty years, Christina Rossetti will perhaps be best remembered for her first poem, "Goblin Market." Though Rossetti insisted it was a children's poem, critics have considered it a commentary on religious, social, and sexual aspects of the Victorian Era.
Rossetti's wrote mainly children's poetry for the remainder of her life. In 1894, she died of cancer. Her work enjoyed a renaissance in the 1970s during feminist movements of that time.
