Christina Hijjawi, a former firefighter from San Francisco was arrested for allegedly collecting $140,000 in workers' compensation and disability payments at the same time she was participating in endurance activities like marathons.SF Gate: Ex-s.f. Hijjawi claimed she was too injured to work but the San Francisco's Human Resources Department claims to have video of her competing in "some of the toughest athletic competitions around," according to the San Francisco Chronicle.SF Gate: Ex-s.f. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Hijjawi injured her right shoulder in December of 1998 while on duty. Hijjawi was was assigned to desk duty or was out of work intermittently. While undergoing an evaluation in 2006, Hijjawi reported a second injury, related to her right thumb.
