  • Christian Audigier is a French fashion designer who was head of the clothing label Von Dutch and created the trucker hat style trend. As of 2004, he licensed the rights to produce the Ed Hardy clothing line inspired by the tattoo art of Don Hardy. The colorful characteristics of his clothing include tattoos and other edgy designs creating a high end streetwear line popular with celebrities.

  • The Art of Don Hardy

    Known as the Godfather of Tattoos, Don Hardy is an American tattoo artist from Iowa. Born in 1945, Hardy was raised in Los Angeles and was determined to become a tattoo artist. After studying at the San Francisco Art Institute in the 1960's, Hardy began tattooing professionally, opening a tattoo shop in San Francisco and infusing Japanese aesthetic into his designs. By the 1980's Hardy and his wife published several books on alternative art and moved to Hawaii letting younger artists continue his artistic traditions in the San Fran shop. By the 1990's, Hardy evolved his work from skin to canvas, with a large majority of his designs on exhibition in galleries and museums across the country. In 2004, his art was transferred yet again, from canvas to clothing.
