Professional basketball forward Chris Wilcox plays in the National Basketball Association for the Detroit Pistons.
Wilcox was traded with Joe Smith from the Thunder to the New Orleans Hornets on February 17, 2009, in exchange for Tyson Chandler. The trade was rescinded two days later after Chandler failed a team physical.
Early Life
Chris Ray Wilcox was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. He attended Enloe High School, then continued his education at the University of Maryland. Wilcox played two seasons of college basketball for the Maryland Terrapins, averaging 7.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.01 blocks. He helped the Terrapins win the NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament in 2002, recording 10 points and seven rebounds in the championship game.

Pro Career
In his first season with the Clippers, Wilcox appeared in 46 games. In 2006, he was traded to the Seattle SuperSonics for forward Vladimir Radmanovic. He played two seasons in Seattle, then joined the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008 when the team moved.
Wilcox was traded to the New York Knicks in February 2009. He signed with the Detroit Pistons as a free agent later that year.
2009 - 2010 Season
During the 2009 - 10 season, Wilcox averaged 4.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 13.0 minutes in 34 games.
His best game came in a 94 to 90 win against the New York Knicks. It was his lone double-double of the season, in which he scored a season-high 14 points and gathered 10 rebounds in 16 minutes.
