Chris Paul is an All-Star point guard for the New Orleans Hornets of the NBA.
On December 17, 2008, Paul set an all-time NBA record by getting at least one steal in his 106th straight game. The record was held by Alvin Robertson since 1986. Paul stated, It's an unbelievable achievement. Hopefully nobody else will come break it. I figure since I set the record, why not smash it? Let's see how long it can go. Early Life
Christopher Emmanuel Paul was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on May 16, 1985. He attended West Forsyth High School. In 2003, he was selected to the McDonald's All-American team. He later attended Wake Forest University where he led the team to the Sweet Sixteen. He declared for the NBA draft after two seasons at Wake Forrest.
Pro Career
With the fourth pick in the 2005 draft, the New Orleans Hornets selected Chris Paul. He quickly establish himself as an elite player winning the 2006 NBA Rookie of the Year Award. He also won the ESPY Award for Best Breakthrough Athlete. He was later named to the USA Basketball Team, to represent the USA in the Olympics. In 2006, he was named as a replacement for injured guard Steve Nash in the All-Star game skills challenge. In 2007, he was named to the actual team representing the Western Conference in the All-Star game. He was also considered one of the favorites, along with Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett for the 2008 NBA Most Valuable Award.
