  • Chris Menges is a film director and photography director. He, alongside Roger Deakins, was nominated for a Best Cinematography Oscar for his work on The Reader. However, the Award went to Slumdog Millionaire cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle.
  • Career

    Chris Menges began his career as a camera assistant on the 1962 film The Saturday Men. He worked his way up the ranks from assistant to camera operator. He ultimately became a full-fledged cinematographer and worked on numerous productions, including Dirty Pretty Things, The Good Thief and Couples and Robbers.
