Jerico vs. Rourke
On a January 2009 episode of Larry King, Jericho criticized actor Mickey Rourke's film portrayal in The Wrestler, as well as Rourke's comments about wrestlers during a red carpet event. Jericho then challenged Rourke, who immediately declined to wrestler the champ. In 1996, Jericho began wrestling for ECW. Shortly after, he joined World Championship Wrestling and had successful runs as the Cruiserweight Champion. In 1998, Jericho attempted to begin a feud with WCW World Champion Bill Goldberg. Jericho repeatedly challenged Goldberg, calling him "Greenberg" and mimicking his entrance style. Despite this angle going on for several weeks and Jericho wrestling a miniature version of Goldberg, Jericho never actually wrestled the man himself.Jericho left WCW in 1999 to join the WWF. He made his WWF debut by interrupting a promo being delivered by The Rock. Jericho would go on to win the Intercontinental title and, in 2001, he became the first ever Undisputed Champion by winning both the World Championship and WWF Championship in one night.
Jericho left wrestling in 2005, but returned to the WWE in late 2007.
