American professional hockey player Chris Higgins plays in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens.
NHL Career
Higgins was drafted 14th overall in the 2002 NHL draft by the Montreal Canadiens. He played one additional season at Yale University after the draft, then joined the Canadiens for his NHL debut in 2003. He played the majority of his first two seasons with the Canadiens' American Hockey League affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs. Following the 2004-05 NHL lockout, Higgins earned a full roster spot with the Canadiens. In 2007, he renewed his contract to stay with the franchise for two years and was also named an alternate captain of the team.
