NHL Career
Gratton was drafted third overall in the 1993 NHL draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. He joined the Lightning for his NHL debut that same year and played every regular season game with the team over his first four seasons in the league. After nearly two additional seasons with the Lightning, he was traded to the Buffalo Sabres on March 9, 2000. Gratton's next move came in 2003, when he was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes. Shortly before the 2004-05 NHL lockout, he was sent to the Colorado Avalanche. He played just 13 games with the Avalanche, then entered the free agency and signed with the Florida Panthers on August 12, 2005.
