  • Major League Baseball starting pitcher Chris Capuano currently plays for the Milwaukee Brewers.

    Prior to his MLB career, Capuano graduated from Duke University with a degree in economics. He was then drafted on June 2, 1999 by the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2000, Capuano joined the Diamondbacks' minor league affiliates, where he played for his first few seasons.

    On May 4, 2003, Capuano was called up to make his MLB debut with the Diamondbacks. He played only nine games, pitching in 33 innings and finishing with a 4.64 earned runs average.

    Following the 2003 season, Capuano was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers on December 1, 2003. He split the 2004 season between the Brewers and their minor league teams, playing in 17 major league games. In 2005, Capuano earned a full roster spot with the Brewers, playing in 35 games.

    Capuano re-joined the Brewers in 2006 for 34 games, and was selected for his first MLB All-Star Game appearance. Although selected, he did not play in the game.

    In 2007, Capuano played just 29 games after injuries kept him out for parts of the season. In October 2007, he underwent Tommy John surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left elbow.

    Capuano started the 2008 season on the disabled list, still recovering from the surgery.
