College Football Career
Prior to playing in the NFL, Canty played college football with the Virginia Cavaliers in the NCAA. Playing in 26 games, Canty had a standout collegiate career, earning All-ACC honors as well as the Virginia Lineman of the Year award and the Ned McDonald Award for the top defensive player at the school. Canty made his professional debut with the Cowboys in 2005, playing in all regular season games and recording 35 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
