Chris Brown was sentenced to five years probation on August 25, 2009, for assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna. A judge in Los Angeles, California also sentenced the 20-year-old Brown to 180 days of community labor, which began on September 16, 2009. Brown was assigned to a roadside cleanup crew under the supervision of law enforcement.
