In a video released on July 20, 2009, R&B singer Chris Brown publicly apologized to his ex-girlfriend, singer Rihanna, for fighting with her in an incident prior to the 2009 Grammy Awards, on February 8 of that year. Brown pleaded guilty in June to felony assault against Rihanna and will be sentenced to 180 days of community service, along with mandatory anger-management courses and therapy.http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1616575/20090720/brown__chris__18_.jhtml
In the two-minute video, Brown explains that his attorneys have cautioned him not to speak publicly about the events that transpired in February.
