With the success of the #1 single "Run It!," Chris Brown's self-titled debut album peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 in 2005. Subsequent singles "Yo (Excuse Me Miss)" and "Say Goodbye" also hit the Top 10 of the Hot 100.Allmusic: Chris Brown Billboard SinglesBrown released his second album Exclusive in 2007. Alleged Assault on Rihanna
TMZ.com reported on March 5, 2009, that according to police notes, the alleged assault by Chris Brown on February 8th started when Rihanna read a three-page text message on Brown's cell phone from another woman. The angered Brown then reportedly tried to force Rihanna out of his car, shoved her head into the passenger's side window, punched her, bit her on the ear and put her in a headlock. Rihanna was said to have sent a text to her assistant telling her to call the cops. After Rihanna sent the text, Brown was said to have stated to Rihanna, "You just did the stupidest thing ever. Brown was arrested on February 8, 2009, after allegedly abusing and threatening singer Rihanna. The incident took place before the Grammy Awards, reportedly after Brown received a text message from an unnamed female who wanted to hook up with him.
