Noam Chomsky is an American linguist, theorist, and political activist.
One of the most popular opponents of the policies of the United States and other nations, Chomsky's views and opinions have garnered praise and spawned criticism. He is sometimes referred to as a "dissident intellectual."
His opinions, especially those on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict and the War on Terror, have caused considerable controversy.
Despite this, he remains a much sought after speaker who continues to travel the world delivering speeches on global politics, war and political activism.
Chomsky's activism started in the 1960's with his opposition to the Vietnam War. Through this work, Chomsky has garnered attention for his support of libertarian socialism and considers himself a "traditional anarchist."
He continues to travel as a much sought-after political lecturer.
