Chocolate cream pie is a single crust pie, filled with a thickened chocolate pudding and is generally topped with whipped cream.

How to Make Classic Chocolate Cream Pie
- Boil water in the bottom of a double boiler over medium heat.
- Mix the sugar, cornstarch, salt, cocoa powder and milk in the top bowl of the double boiler.
- Place the top bowl onto the double boiler over the boiling water and cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover and continue to cook for an additional 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
- Pour the cocoa mixture evenly into the pie crust and refrigerate for a minimum of two hours.
- Top with the whipped cream and sprinkle with additional cocoa powder, if desired. Cut into eight slices, serve and enjoy! Refrigerate any unused portions.
