Chinese Food

Chinese food refers to any food or recipes that come from China. This type of food originated throughout many regions of China, with each region lending a slightly different style. This led to eight great Chinese traditions in Chinese cooking. Chinese food is popular in many area of the world including North and South America, Australia, Western Europe and Southern Africa. Some recipes known as Chinese cuisine are Beijing duck, Shanghai noodles, Sichuan soup and Guangdong dumplings. Some common dishes found in American Chinese restaurants include Moo Goo Gai Pan, Mongolian Beef, egg rolls, egg drop soup, beef with broccoli, fried rice, Kung Pao Chicken and sweet and sour chicken.

Chinese food is usually served in bite-sized pieces so the diner can easily pick it up with chopsticks or the fingers. This is the traditional way of eating in China. The dishes based on balanced opposites. For instance, hot will balance cold and spicy balance mild. This type of cuisine evolved over time using the natural resources available to the Chinese people. Variations around the World

Some areas of the world had a large concentration of Chinese immigrants, which brought the food to the continent. In time, the foods and recipes of the area mixed with the Chinese way of cooking. This has brought about such variety as American Chinese cuisine and Indian Chinese cuisine. For instance, in America it is a custom to have a fortune cookie at the end of a Chinese meal.
