Reports of the album's musical content have varied over the years, due perhaps to Rose's ongoing revisions of songs. In the late '90s, it was reported that the album would contain industrial rock in the vein of Nine Inch Nails, though Rose stated that the album would have a Queen influence as well. Guns N' Roses' rare live performances have previewed some of the album's proposed tracks, including the title track and a power ballad entitled "Madagascar."The New York Times: The Most Expensive Album Never Made (March 6, 2005) -
