China Airlines is the Republic of China on Taiwan's flag carrier airline. Despite its name, China Airlines does not fly from the island of Taiwan to mainland China, but instead operates flights through Hong Kong for this purpose. It is owned by the China Aviation Development Foundation, a subsidiary of the government of the Republic of China.
