Chairs can be built with curved attachments known as "rockers" underneath the legs, providing the ability to rock back and forth in a gentle, soothing motion. These rocking chairs can then be built to a smaller scale for use by children.
The Most Famous Child Rocker
Like adult-sized rocking chairs, rocking horses were likely inspired by cradles and in fact actually pre-date adult rocking chairs. They may have been around as early as the Medieval era, but came into popular usage (and not exclusively for royalty) in the 19th century.

Children and pets should be closely monitored around child rockers, as injury can occur if something becomes caught under the rockers.
