Physical Abuse
Observe the child and report suspected abuse to authorities or your local child welfare agency. Child abuse can sometimes be linked with behavioral changes. Be aware of a change in the child's attitude. Children who are normally outgoing and boisterous may suddenly become quiet and withdrawn. Child abuse victims may also become sad and moody. Sometimes children become argumentative and fight with other children.
Children who are abused may not receive the medical attention that they need. Therefore, be on the lookout for unattended wounds or obvious physical ailments that have not received medical attention. Parents or guardians may attempt to attend to wounds themselves, but be suspicious of a parent or guardian who refuses to take the child to the doctor. http://www.childhelp.org/pages/statistics
