The chihuahua is a small, muscular dog with a round head, big eyes and ears and a short, pointed snout. The Chihuahua takes its name from the State in Mexico, but the breed goes back to the Aztecs.
Temperament

Chihuahuas are alert and intelligent watchdogs that are fiercely loyal to their owners. They tend to prefer the company of their own breed. Because of their small size and clannish behavior, chihuahuas are suitable for apartment dwelling and individual or elderly pet owners.Pet Owner's Guide: [1]
Pop Culture Chihuahua

In the United States, the American fast food chain Taco Bell, which features Mexican food, launched an advertising campaign in 1997 using the chihuahua as a mascot. The dog's catch phrase, "Yo quiero Taco Bell!" which means "I want Taco Bell," became a popular part of American pop culture.

This is the first commercial that started the Chihuahua craze. They have since become an icon in American society.

This video (Chihuahua Tricks by Moxie) shows that these small dogs are highly intelligent and are fun to train!
