Early Life
Chief Moses was born in 1829 in the northwestern part of the United States, along the Columbia River. Moses was educated in Idaho at the Presbyterian mission in Lapwai from the ages of 12 through 15. Land Negotiations
Chief Moses and his tribe were granted the Columbia Reservation in 1879. There was increasing tension between the white settlers and the Native Americans, causing President Chester A.
