The Chicken Ranch is a legal and licensed brothel, an establishment dedicated to prostitution located in Nevada. The brothel was established in 1976 by Walter Plankinton. Two years after it opened, it was burned to the ground "allegedly by an arsonist hired by Bill Martin" (Wikipeida), owner of the Shamrock brothel. The 12 prostitutes and 2 employees survived. Plankinton re opened five days later. On February 8, 2006, the brothel was purchased for $5.2 million.
