Unveiled at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, the Chevrolet Volt is a Plug-in hybrid car developed by General Motors to compete in the alternative fuel vehicle market. The Volt is scheduled for a 2010 release.
How It Works

The Chevy Volt utilizes a lihtium-ion battery pack that runs through the entire car. Fully charged, the car will run on electricity for 40 miles before it needs any gasoline.CNN.com: GM debuts the Chevy Volt
