Cheryl Ford is a Forward for the WNBA's Detroit Shock and the daughter of famous NBA player Karl Malone. She is the only player to win WNBA Rookie of the Year Award and a WNBA championship in the same year. Ford played for USA national team and was awarded a bronze medal in the women's 2006 FIBA World Championship. Ford was the starter for the WNBA East All-Star team for 2007 and received the WNBA All-Star game MVP award. She was the first ever to win both Rookie of the Year and All-Star MVP awards. In 2007 she injured her knee and had a knee surgery.
