Cherry Point Harrier Crash

A military AV-8B Harrier jet crashed in a wooded area of Havelock, North Carolina on December 29, 2008. According to the Marine Corp., the jet was returning to Cherry Point Air Station after a routine training exercise. The pilot of the jet died in the crash, his name is being withheld pending familial notification. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.WITN NBC: Cherry Point Pilot Killed... 2008 Cherry Point Plane Crashes

An AV-8B Harrier jet crashed near North Carolina's Cherry Point Air Station in February of 2008. No one was injured in the February 2008 crash which occurred near Open Ground Farms.

In May 2008, a Harrier jet from Cherry Point Air Station crashed while on a training mission in Arizona. The pilot involved in the May 2008 crash was not injured.WITN NBC: Cherry Point Pilot Killed... (December 29, 2008)
