Cheri Oteri is an actress and comedian best known for being a cast member of Saturday Night Live.
She moved to LA at age 25 and worked for A&M; Records for four years. She joined the comedy troupe The Groundlings and was soon brought on to the SNL team. She formed part of the new cast brought in to redeem the show after the deeply unpopular 1994 season. As she worked with other SNL regulars - Molly Shannon, Ana Gasteyer, Will Ferrell, Darrell Hammond - the show regained some respect.
She appeared in Scary Movie, Inspector Gadget, Liar Liar, and Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd.

- April 26, 2008, Cheri's father, Gaetano "Tom" Oteri, was murdered
- Nashville songwriter Richard Fagan was arrested and charged with killing
- The two men were roommates
- Oteri died from a "significant laceration" to his wrist
- Fagan's knife identified as the weapon that caused the cut
