    Cheri is a romantic drama film adaptation of a 1920s French novel by Colette. The movie centers around a middle-aged woman who has a six year love affair with a much younger man. Only to come to a painful ending when the young man is forced into an arranged marriage with a wealthy younger woman. Being stuck in a loveless marriage, he continues to pine for his lover.
