Cheap Trick Timeline

Cheap Trick performed a number of popular singles in the 1970s and 1980s, including "I Want You to Want Me", "Surrender", "The Flame", and "Dream Police". After tireless touring in the early years, Cheap Trick built up a fan base and were eventually signed to Epic Records in 1976. Their first three albums didn't make much impact in the United States, so they recorded a live performance in Japan, where they had managed to build a substantial following. The resulting album, At Budokan, finally secured Cheap Trick fame in America, particularly behind the live recording of "I Want You to Want Me."

Music fans who were not around in the 70s and 80s will probably recognize Cheap Trick for the theme song on "That 70's Show", from the second season on, and also for the theme song to "The Colbert Report ".http://www.cheaptrick.com/Since 2007, Cheap Trick has been recording and touring, but also laying the foundation for their current Sgt Pepper Live! project. The band has never been shy about covering the music of other bands, having successfully covered Elvis ("Don't Be Cruel")http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsPtCnyxMsE , Big Star ("In the Street")http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUK0mrVVxg8 and Fats Domino ("Aint That a Shame").http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye4U7Qp5sNU
