Charmed was a television drama series featuring the Halliwell sisters,who were all witches. The show ran on the now defunct WB network and was produced by Aaron Spelling. The Charmed' title tied into the story as these three sisters were known as the most powerful witches or "The Charmed Ones".

Each character of the show Charmed possessed unique magical abilities that they used to fight evil. Together they fought evil forces like warlocks and demons. The show was based in San Francisco, California and part of a series of super natural based shows on the WB like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Roswell.

Even after losing one of its major stars (Shannen Doherty) after season 3, it went on to run for 5 more seasons ending on May 21, 2006. In the final episode, the sisters face the ultimate evil. The series finale titled Forever Charmed received 4.49 million views, a high for the final season.

The Book of Shadows is a book of spells used to fight evil and help the witches in many other situations. The Halliwell sisters kept their Book of Shadows in the attic in the Charmed series.

This book consisted of spells used by their ancestors and they added any new spells that they created. It was handed down from generation to generation so that the family of witches had as much information as possible to help them fight the evil that they encountered on a daily basis.
