The Charlotte Bobcats Arena is a sports & entertainment venue located in the Charlotte’s Central City area, interchangeably referred to as “Uptown” or “Downtown.” The arena is home to the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats, the WNBA’s Charlotte Sting and minor league hockey’s Charlotte Checkers. Since opening in October 2005, as stop on the Rolling Stones’ “A Bigger Bang Tour” the city-owned arena has hosted more that 120 events per year. Operated by Bobcats Sports & Entertainment the arena with the latest in production technology, its variety of seating options and advanced level of amenities provides a venue that meets the needs so the Charlotte entertainment community. The Daktronics manufactured scoreboard is the largest indoor scoreboard video screen in the U.S. Among the events to be hosted in 2008 are the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament, the NASCAR Nextel All-Star Pit Crew Challenge and the NCAA Men’s Basketball South Regional Tournament.
