  • Charlie Watts is the drummer for the now-legendary rock band The Rolling Stones. After attending art school in England, Watts joined the Stones in the early '60s where he soon found international success in what would become one of the most influential rock and roll bands in the world. He continues touring with the Stones today.

    Watts is also known for his work as a jazz band leader. He has released several solo albums in the big band and bebop genres, playing mostly jazz standards. In 1991 he recorded a tribute album to saxophone great Charlie Parker.

    In 2004, Watts was diagnosed with throat cancer which went into remission after radiation treatment.
