Charlie Sheen Fired
Charlie Sheen was officially fired from "Two and a Half Men" by Warner Bros.http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20471718,00.html Television on Monday, March 7, 2011. In a statement, the studio says the decision to terminate Sheen was made "after careful consideration." Radar Online reports that an 11-page letter was sent to Sheen's attorney, saying that Sheen "engaged in dangerously self-destructive conduct" and adding that the actor "appears to be very ill."http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2011/03/warner-bros-termination-letter-charlie-sheen-dangerously-self-destructive-very
Sheen issued a statement to TMZ shortly after the firing, in which he said "This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales." Sheen also said he will "never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension."
Within hours of his firing, Sheen was at the Live Nation offices in Beverly Hills for what TMZ said was a "top-secret meeting with some old friends." He was photographed on the roof of the building, standing alongside one of his Goddesses, Natalie Kenley, and wielding what appears to be a large machete.http://www.tmz.com/2011/03/07/charlie-sheen-machete-tiger-blood-knife-video-los-angeles/ People magazine says Sheen noted in a message that "his machete would be used to destroy anyone who messed with his family."http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20471841,00.html
No immediate word on whether Charlie Sheen will be replaced on "Two and a Half Men" - or whether the show will be canceled. The Los Angeles Times reports that CBS pays about $4 million per episode for the sitcom - with about half of that going towards Sheen's salary and his compensation for reruns. Without Sheen, the "Times" reports, "CBS would probably push to lower that price tag."http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/entertainmentnewsbuzz/2011/03/with-charlie-sheen-gone-cbs-and-warner-bros-need-to-decide-fate-of-two-and-a-half-men.html
What's next for Charlie Sheen? For now, Sheen's continuing his web cast, Sheen's Korner, posting what TMZ describes as a "disturbing new rant" last night, in which he "once again lashed out against the trolls" of the world - including those that made his telephone.http://www.tmz.com/2011/03/08/charlie-sheen-sheens-korner-ustream-episode-3-fired-two-and-a-half-men-video/ Radar Online reports that Sheen's meeting at Live Nation Entertainment was to discuss possibly "taking his 'act' on a nationwide tour."http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2011/03/exclusive-charlie-sheens-comeback-live-stage-sho Radar Online reports that the Sheen tour would be similar to one launched by Conan O'Brien while he was waiting out his non-compete for NBC.http://perezhilton.com/2011-03-08-charlie-sheen-live-act-on-tour-live-nation
Charlie Sheen 20/20 Interview
Charlie Sheen 20/20 Interview
Charlie Sheen's interview with ABC's "20/20" aired March 1, 20011. In a sit-down with Andrea Canning, Sheen discussed his current life and his "public war of words with CBS" over "Two and a Half Men" among other things. The interview was filmed on Saturday at Sheen's home in Beverly Hills. Since then, Sheen's been on a media tear, giving interviews to the Today Show, Good Morning America, Piers Morgan and Howard Stern.
In the interview, Sheen introduces viewers to his girlfriends, or "Goddesses," porn star Rachel Oberlin, AKA Bree Olson, and graphic designer Natalie Kenly, calling them the "women that I love that have completed the three parts of my heart."
Sheen talked frankly about his current "public feud" with CBS and "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre, saying he may sue over work stoppage on the show. Sheen told Canning during the interview that, quote, "I've got a whole family to support and love. People are relying on that. I'm here to collect. They're going to lose."
Sheen's father, actor Martin Sheen, has publicly expressed concern for his son's well being, likening the younger Sheen's addiction problems to cancer. When asked about his father's concerns, Sheen said, "I don't care if he's my dad -- back off with the judgment!"
When asked about his "rampant drug use," Sheen said he last took drugs "about a month ago" when he "probably took more than anyone could survive." Sheen said of his recent drug binge: "I'm proud of what I created. It was radical. I exposed people to magic." Was Sheen on drugs when the interview was taped? According to ABC, Sheen claims he's "passed a series of drug tests, conducted by RadarOnline.com."
During the interview, Sheen's "goddesses" joined him in playing with the actor's twin sons by his soon-to-be ex-wife Brooke Mueller. Just hours after the "20/20" interview aired, news broke that police had "removed" the twins, Bob and Max, from the home. According to Radar Online, a judge ordered that the nearly 2-year-old boys should be "returned to...Mueller." TMZ says Mueller claims that Sheen threatened her life, saying he told her he would "cut her head off, put it in a box and send it to her mom." Mueller now has a restraining order against Sheen, who is said to be seeking full custody of the twins. Sheen appeared on the "Today" show March 2, 2011, and said, "At this moment on live television, I do not know where my children are."
Personal Life
Sheen had a much publicized falling out with ex-wife Denise Richards. The two fought over custody of their daughters with Richards alleging that Sheen was abusive to her and her staff, allegations that Sheen denies.http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,1186548,00.html
Sheen and his then-wife, Brooke Mueller, welcomed twin boys, Bob and Max, on March 14, 2009. The twins were born six week premature.http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20265788,00.html
The couple filed final divorce papers in February 2011, and share joint custody of the twins with Brooke getting primary physical custody.http://www.tmz.com/2010/10/30/brooke-mueller-charlie-sheen-separated-video/
According to TMZ, Brooke will get $55,000 a month in child support, plus a $757,698.70 lump sum and $1 million for her share of the family homestead, which Charlie will keep.http://www.tmz.com/2010/10/30/brooke-mueller-charlie-sheen-separated-video/
